Branko Tomovic

Actor, Director & Writer

Prior to directing Branko Tomovic studied acting at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York and has worked with internationally respected film directors as Ken Loach, Paul Greengrass, Soenke Wortmann, David Ayer and Pete Travis to name a few.

His filmography includes big budget US productions such as ‘Fury’, ‘Wolfman’ and ‘Bourne Ultimatum’, British Independent Films such as ‘City Of Tiny Lights’, ‘It’s a Free World’, ‘Deus’, European Cinema such as ‘Pope Joan’, ‘Will’, ‘Silent River’ and ‘Luna’, and also international TV such as ‘24’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Homeland’, ‘Strike Back’, ‘Counterpart’, ‘Killing Eve’.


His previous short films as a writer/director (‘Red’, a dark thriller set in the underground world of illegal organ smuggling starring Dervla Kirwan and ‘The Smell of Petrol’ which deals with human trafficking) have won numerous awards and nominations at major prestigious festivals, including qualifying festivals for Oscar, BAFTA and the European Film Awards.


‘Vampir’ is Tomovic’s feature debut as a writer/director. It world premiered at Sitges International Film Festival where it was nominated for the New Visions Award, followed by the UK premiere at Raindance Film Festival, Italy’s Trieste Science+Fiction Festival where it was nominated for the Silver Melies Award for Best European Film and the German premiere at Hof International Film Festival with Nominations for the Hof Gold Prize and the German Cinema New Talent Award.


‘Vampir’ has been picked up by sales agent Reel Suspects and found distribution deals with Alarm Pictures (US/UK), Exponenta (Russia), MCF (Ex-Yu territory).
