Jenny Man Wu

Director, Producer & Curator

Jenny Man Wu is an Independent Director, Producer, and Curator. She studied at the Beijing Film Academy and the Li Xianting Film School, and she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Theatre at the Department of Theatre and Performance, Goldsmiths, University of London. She has worked at institutions like Bridging the Dragon Sino-European Producers’ Association and Fortissimo Films, where she was involved in film production, co-production, and overseas distribution. She is also a committee member and director on duty of the Beijing Queer Film Festival. Over the years, she has been committed to producing and promoting films that focus on gender equality issues, advocating for social diversity and inclusion.




As a curator, she has organised events such as the "25x25" short film exhibition focusing on China at the Helsinki Festival in Finland, the "Docu-drama-abstract" three-day outdoor short film screening at Baitasi during Beijing Design Week, and the Love Queer Cinema Week at the Contemporary Art Museum in Turkey. Her works as a director and producer include ‘The Taste of Betel Nut’ (Berlinale International Film Festival, Panorama section), ‘The Drum Tower’ (Friss Hus Film Festival, Budapest), ‘I am Going to Make a Lesbian Porn’ (Viennale International Film Festival), ‘A Choice, Maybe Not’ (Brussels Women's Film Festival, ‘Dortmund International’ Women’s Film Festival), ‘Last Words’ (Seoul International Women’s Film Festival and FIRST Youth Film Festival), and ‘A Sort of Loneliness’ (Beijing Independent Film Festival).


As a producer, she has received training from the 2020 Venice Biennale College Cinema, the 2019 Berlinale Talents, the 2020 Shanghai International Film Festival Talent Camp, and the 2014 FIRST Youth Film Festival Training Camp.
